Since 2000, Hawaii has participated in the REEF program. On Maui, daytime field trainings and evening workshops are offered in preparation for fish surveys by Project S.E.A.-Link.
Folks
who enjoy snorkeling and diving will love this! With a few hours of training,
you will become a valuable source of information for marine conservation. You
will be responsible to record your sightings from your dive and snorkel
adventures, and that data will become available to the public on the REEF
website.
FIN, Fish Identification Network, are involved with doing REEF surveys on a monthly basis.
Lend a Hand: All are welcome to join them, and membership is free. 1 day notice preferred.
